Dear Friends. I’m writing you because, all of you have known Jazmin and I for some time now and were concerned for us during the summer of 2003, a very difficult time for us. Many of you helped us tremendously. Your prayers and letters gave us hope that we will obtain justice. Four years have passed since my month long incarceration in the awful, Tijuana. Mexican prison. The goodness in you and love for us propelled you to action. You all made a difference, and were part of making my time in prison as short as possible. I ‘m forever grateful for your support. Once again I find it necessary to ask you to pray and help us in what I hope would be the last step in our quest for justice. Bills H. Res. 797 and H.R.4038(entitled "For the relief of Adrian Rodriguez") have been introduced to the 110th congress a short time ago. They were given to the judicial committee for review. These bills will be ignored unless there is support and interest. Will you please write a letter to congress in support of our cause and request the bills to be looked at and approved. We are hopeful that by these bills being approved, the government agencies, involved in searching cars with contraband, will take there job more seriously. Today, post 9/11, security plays a major part of our lives. If there are no consequences for the negligence that the border protection agencies have shown, I find it difficult to believe that the proper structures and importance will be given to the important task of searching cars with contraband. If there are no consequences, governmental arrogance and injustice will prevail. We live in the most wonderful country, where we, the people, have a voice and power to bring about positive chances in our government. We are only powerful if we are aware of the issues and take action, letting our representatives know what we support. Please don’t let this bill be ignored, let congress know where you stand. Thank you all for your friendship and support. Sincerely, Adrian
